Michael Gerard Tyson was born on July 30, 1966 to parents Lorna Tyson and Jimmy Kirkpatrick. Unfortunately, his father abandoned the family when Tyson was just two years old, leaving his mother to care for him and his two siblings. The family was financially burdened and, as a result, lived in a high crime neighborhood. Tyson was bullied for his lisp and was forced to defend himself by using street fighting. Given the circumstances Tyson had early on in life, he was constantly lead to trouble and petty crime.
