The most iconic red carpet looks from Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez continues to defy the physics of ageing. Now only months away from turning 50, J-Lo is and always will be one of Hollywood’s stunning starlets. With her fame and beauty comes a lot of glitz and glamour, and J-Lo is never one to shy away from the cameras on the red carpet. Here are some of her best looks.

Wonderful in white

J-Lo somehow manages to always look pretty, demure, and beautiful all at the same time. And this ruffled mini dress is the perfect example of her multi-talented appearance.

Met Gala eleganza

The Met Gala is one of the top showbiz events in which celebrities dress to the tens – all eyes are on the dresses. In 2018, when the theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”, J-Lo had all eyes on her with her. The dress is exquisitely designed, and it’s giving us goddess vibes with the cross stitched over the chest and the pop of royal blue color. Her slicked back cropped hair, ruffled feathers, and knee slit finish the look up nicely.

Sequenced starlet

With her breakout performance in 1997 biopic Selena receiving rave reviews, the world was gripped with J-Lo. At the film’s premiere, she continued to keep us under her spell with her gorgeous dress. She slipped into a stunning floor-length gown dripped in diamonds, and to top this off, she draped a blue fur shawl to give it that touch of elegance. This was when she started to really turn heads, and it didn’t stop there.

Hat heaven

J-Lo has never been one to shy away from taking risks with her wardrobe, and this recent look at the 2019 Grammy Awards showed she’s certainly still got that “je ne sais quoi.” Sporting an oversized cowboy hat with a formal jeweled gown, this look shouldn’t have worked on paper, but it does. In real life, it looks marvelous. The look is finished off with a matching clutch and a lengthy ponytail. Only J-Lo could pull this off. Well played.

A nude affair

The Oscars Ceremony is an event to look your most formally fancy, and J-Lo made the most of this chance to look regal by wearing this stunning gown. The dress is nude color, so it accentuates her complexion perfectly. It’s a look that is feminine and timeless – certainly one of her best. It’s beautifully flowing and enriched with crystals. We definitely give a ten out of ten for this look. The paparazzi went mad for it.

The good old days

This look, with her once boyfriend P Diddy, is iconic Jenny from the block. In 2000, J-Lo was at the top of her game, taking the music world by storm and beginning to make a household name for herself. Here she’s seen wearing a cropped white top and pants suit, with a silver jeweled belt and head bandanna. It’s classic J-Lo, and we’re living for it. Her style has evolved a lot since, but we certainly remember when this was the kind of attire she was rocking. Like it or not, J-Lo got everyone looking.

Pink princess

Sometimes pink is the only way to go. Here at the premiere for her 2018 romcom Second Act, J-Lo was an explosion of color, and she’s never looked more eye-catching. The multi-layered dress is the definition of pretty in pink. It would be so easy for this dress to overwhelm whoever was wearing it, but she looks fantastic. Of course, she has prominent legs on display too. Iconic!

Ray of sunshine

Yellow is a color very few dare to go, but J-Lo here at the 2016 Golden Globes Awards looks absolutely beautiful. She’s seen wearing a yellow gown with cape-like shoulders and sleeves with a cinched waist and a thigh-hit slit to show off a bit of skin. The look is eye-catching and sophisticated all at once. She positively looks radiant. Yellow is definitely her color! But then again, isn’t every color her color?

Blue bombshell

J-Lo seems to be a fan over the shoulder-draped fur, and we can certainly see why! Here she’s seen wearing a cute little baby-blue dress with fur and a clutch to match. The outfit is perfectly executed. She’s looking delightful in blue that’s for sure. However, what makes this look even better is her hair and makeup – a gorgeous curled updo and smokey brown eyes that show just how gorgeous she truly is.

Sophisticated goddess

We’re going old-school with this one. It’s a shot from one of her first red carpet events at the start of her career, and with this look, we can see why the world took a liking to her. This dress itself is giving us Rose from Titanic vibes. Head to toe in shimmering embellishments and a classic 60s femme fatale hairdo. This red carpet look proves just how age-defying J-Lo is. She really knows how to rock a red carpet.

Silver starlet

At the MTV Music Video Awards in 2017, J-Lo’s red carpet look sparkled in the sunlight. She looked absolutely incredible, wearing a strapping silver dress that accentuates her gorgeous curvaceous figure. Even at her age, J-Lo’s remarkable body proves women should always go by the motto of “if you’ve got it, flaunt it”. It certainly pays off for her! Let’s just hope she didn’t get too much of a bizarre tan line.

These boots are made for red carpets

At the Billboard Music Awards in 2018, J-Lo decided to go for a slightly more casual look, but she still managed to look a million dollars! The burgundy one-piece she’s sporting fools the eyes into thinking it’s a low cut top and an accompanying skirt. However, really it’s an all-in-one dress suit. The color scheme goes perfectly with her light-brown bob, and her choice of snake-skin was a bold risk that certainly paid off.

Lovely in lace

Her look from the 70th Golden Globe Awards in 2013 is another one of them jaw-dropping stop and stare moments. Just look at how stunningly beautiful she looks – her side swept hair really sets the look apart too. You can’t quite tell where the dress ends and her skin starts, and the detailing on the delicately flowing lace is next to none. Top marks awarded to the designers on this dress!

Nice neckwear

J-Lo took another risk at the 2017 Grammy Awards with this unique pink dress. The silhouette is rather classic from the neck down with a low cut drape chest and a flowing bottom, but neck up it’s a whole other story. The halter neck is accompanied by a large ruffle neck collar, and we have to admit…we love it. The iconic J-Lo leg slit was out in full force too!

Majestic majesty

This deep royal blue dress says all that needs to be said for this look. At the 2015 Billboard Awards, J-Lo stunned the paparazzi with this beautifully majestic looking gown. The detailing is gorgeous. Plus, the classic strapless cut gives the dress a classic-looking silhouette that looks great on her. The dress is understated and elegant, and is easily one of our favorites from her on the red carpet.

Work it cowgirl

This is another old-school look from the noughties that if worn today, might not be met with the same praising reaction as it did in 2000 at the MTV Video Music Awards. Nonetheless, we still think she’s absolutely rocking it. There’s a lot going on – hot pants, a sheer animal-print blouse, thigh-high boots and of course the cowgirl style hat to finish the look off quite nicely. Perhaps controversial, but still down-right cool.

Neon diva

At the 2018 American Music Awards, J-Lo rocked the bright pink once again, and this time she looked even better. The splash of black against the neon pink looks fantastic, and the cut of the dress makes it look fun, sophisticated and classy all at the same time. J-Lo really does know how to style out any kind of dress, doesn’t she? She looks ravishing, and by the look of that smile, she knows it too.

90s Sleek

This is another one of J-Lo’s earlier red carpet looks, but it still stands as one of her most iconic. The media went crazy when she stepped out of the taxi like this. Could this dress get any more 90s? At the Golden Globes in 1998, J-Lo set the red carpet alight by donning this simple yet chic bodycon dress. The upper waist cut out and the pastel colors work great on her!

Charmingly conservative

Never one to shy away from showing a bit of flesh, J-Lo more often than not goes for a dress that shows at least a little bit of skin – whether it’s the chest, or her classic leg line. However, this outfit at 2017’s Met Gala is a slightly more conservative look, but still nonetheless gorgeous. A high-neck long length gown looks fittingly lovely on her, and you can tell the light blue fabric is more than likely on the expensive side. She looks a million dollars! With that jewelry she’s wearing the total price tag of the outfit is probably not far off a million either.

The art of deception

Is it a dress? Is it a pants suit? Well, it’s both! J-Lo stunned onlookers with this artfully deceptive choice of attire, opting for a specially designed dress that on side is a gorgeous flowing white gown, but on the other it features a tailored pant leg embellished with diamonds. It’s certainly ‘out there.’ However, it looks utterly stunning on J-Lo. She took another risk – and it paid off once again!

Sparkling sass

J-Lo seemingly always looks top-notch, and this glistening dress at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in 2018 was no exception. Opting for a shorter mini dress, J-Lo was daring enough to pull of this look. And who can blame her? The dress is wonderfully detailed with shining sequins and a slightly cut out midsection, but it remains classy with a high-tailored neck. Plus, look at them golden locks! Perfection.

Sensually stylish

No one can deny that Jennifer Lopez is incredibly stylish and she’s more than happy to show off what she has. This outfit certainly does that. Wearing a strappy peach-nude dress, J-Lo looks absolutely gorgeous. It’s a little on the sensual side, displaying her body in all the right places but it still looks tastefully classy. Plus the matching purse and shoes make the outfit sparkle just that little bit more.

Back to basics

The beauty is in the simplicity with this dress. Bright white is always a great option to look dashingly good, and this dress proves less is sometimes a whole lot more. The gown is long-length must still manages to show a bit of skin through the bare shoulders. Her updo hair and pretty makeup allow the outfit to sparkle too. J-Lo has certainly gone back to basics on this one, but minimalism is often the way to go.

Floral beauty

The deep red color on this gown screams at you, and in a totally “Wow I love it kind of way.” The shoulders of the dress are quite obviously the main event, but they are just on the right side of loud. Although some may find the floral detailing rather garish, the simplicity of the rest of the dress makes it work oh so well. A bit of lipstick is the finishing touch to a lot of different outfits, but for this dress, it’s the absolute icing on the cake. Good work stylists!

Perfect reflection

As one of J-Lo’s most recent red carpet appearances, this dress shines above the rest…literally. The gown itself fits her curves perfectly, and the mirror-like stoning details certainly make her stand out from the crowd. It’s dazzling. The sleek hair and minimal makeup are just what is needed to finish the look off nicely. There aren’t many women who could pull this dress off well, but J-Lo does the job nicely…yet again!
