We all know that dorm rooms are a crucial part of college life, especially early on. They are the perfect place to enjoy a great social life, and make plenty of new friends in the process. We would recommend that anyone who is heading to college for the first time should make sure they stay in dorms. But, which dorms should you choose? That is the main question you need to ask here!
And this really comes down to considering which colleges have the best or most interesting dorms. You might think that dorms are pretty much all the same, and for the most part that is largely true. However, there are some that stand head and shoulders above the rest, and these are the ones we’re going to take a look at below.
Yale
Not only is Yale one of the leading schools in the world, but it also has some pretty amazing dorm rooms as well. Students are randomly assigned to one of 12 residential colleges, and these dorms have everything you could possibly want. As well as having great sized rooms, they also boast dining hall, common room, and basement, and some of them even have gyms, theaters, and music rooms!
Brandeis University
You might not be familiar with the name, but there’s definitely one element of it you will know – we’ll get to that. First off, if you’re lucky enough to get it, the campus is home to Usen Castle, built in the 1920s. It has stunning views of Boston from its balconies, and you get to live in a castle! That’s the dream! On campus there is also a stunning coffee shop you might recognize – the students claim it was the basis for Central Perk in Friends!
Deep Springs College
The reason the dorms here are so interesting is because it’s basically built on a ranch. Now, this is not one for the techies out there, because it has no phone or internet connection. But, the rooms are incredibly spacious, and there are plenty of amenities. This is the sort of place you’d probably love if you grew up on a ranch, or wanted to be a cowboy. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s certainly one of the most interesting college dorms in the country.
University of Arizona, Tucson
The Hub, as its known, is one of the finest college dorms in the States, and it’s not hard to see why. This place is just about as luxury as it gets for college students, and definitely one of the most attractive draws to the university. The rooms are spectacular, and they even have walk-in closets! That’s before we even talk about the spa, gaming hall, sauna, gym, and rooftop pool – it’s difficult to get much better than this.
How awesome would it be to stay in one of these dorms, huh? There are so many wonderful and interesting dorms in the country, and it’s important to try to check them out before settling on your college choice. Don’t forget, these have a major bearing on how much you enjoy college life, as well as helping you to make friends more easily.
