Many universities across the country host some of the best music festivals on their campuses. It’s the perfect time for you to take a break from your classes and have some fun listening to your favorite music. The following are some of the best music festivals on college campuses.

Sun God Festival, University of California San Diego

Named after the statue that is located on the campus of the University of California San Diego, this festival has also attracted students from other universities since 1990. It’s an incredible music festival, where you can have fun while you listen to some great DJs, comedians, and other artists performing. Through the years, this festival has hosted famous artists like Roy Woods, Damian Marley, Diplo, as well as many others. In recent years, this festival also gives students the opportunity to perform on stage. Moreover, this year the Sun God Festival organized the first Sun God for a Cause Food Drive.

Slope Day, Cornell University

This is one of the best traditional music festivals in the country. Cornell university has hosted this festival since 1890, with some of the best musical guests. Since then, Slope Day includes a variety of shows, like circuses and bullfights, among others. In 1979 the first Springfest was held at Cornell University with a massive barbecue. Among some of the featured artists at the festival are Snoop Dogg and Kanye West.

Jazz Reggae Festival, University of California Los Angeles

If you love jazz, then you need to visit the Jazz Reggae Festival that takes place at UCLA, in southern California. It is considered to be one of the hottest jazz and reggae festival in California and every year it attracts more than 30,000 fans. The festival lasts for two days and it features some of the best reggae artists in the world. Some of the most famous artists that have taken part in the festival are Jill Scott, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Lupe Fiasco and Erykah Badu.

Art Attack, University of Maryland

The Art Attack at the University of Maryland took place for the first time in 1985. Back then, both students and musicians performed in the university’s McKeldin Library. This music festival has featured legends, like the Beastie Boys and the Fugees. In 2018, the University of Maryland hosted a battle of the bands event with Vince Staples and Lil Yachty.

Dillo Day, Northwestern University

Dillo Day is one of the most exceptional music festivals held at a university. It is run by the students and it is considered to be one of the biggest festivals in the country. This festival first took place in 1972, when a group of students at this Illinois university organized the first Armadillo Day. In 1981, the festival took place on the shores of Michigan lake, featuring Robert Gordon and Muddy Waters. Some of the most famous artists that performed in this amazing festival over the years were Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Wiz Khalifa and many others.
