Avengers: Endgame hit home on so many levels, from the time-travel craziness, to the killer references, to the heartwarming moments that brought all of our favorite storylines full circle. Seriously, it seemed as though the movie couldn’t go one scene without giving some sort of a tribute to one of the previous movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But then again, that’s why we love the MCU so much – it’s all connected.

When Captain America is all alone facing Thanos, it seems as though no one is around to help him. All of the sudden, he receives backup by the hundredfold, with familiar faces up the wazoo coming to help him fight.

One of these people is Sam Wilson AKA Falcon, who tells Steve he’s coming in “on his left.” This is an obvious reference to what Cap used to frequently say to Sam while doing their running drills in The Winter Soldier.
