Although scientists and genius minds alike have lots of predictions for the future, it’s harder to know what really happened in the past. Historians can speculate, and they can undertake scientific testing, but there are always going to be certain remnants of what used to be that just can’t be explained.
This seemed to be the case when construction workers stumbled across a 150-year-old coffin. To begin with, they had no idea where it had come from, why it was there or anything about the woman who was lying inside of it. Eventually, they figured out the secrets of the past and realized that their discovery had shed light on a forgotten part of history. In fact, they had made history themselves.

As construction workers dug their machinery into the ground next to a railway line in Queens, New York, their efforts came to a halt when they heard the screech of metal. They could not see what was below the surface from where they were standing, but they assumed that they had hit a pipe buried just beneath the surface.

Following protocol, they etched their way closer to the hole to investigate the situation, which is when they realized that they had not hit a pipe at all. Instead, they had hit something else entirely. There was something beneath the surface, and it was something they had never seen before in their lives. Half-buried amongst the rubble and dirt were pieces of metal, and just below this was the hint of a human skeleton…
