How I became a Straight-A student by following these rules

It’s important to do well in school. Even if good grades aren’t the be-all and end-all of life, they can still be a significant help for your future. The better you perform in school, the likelier you are to get into your favorite college, and maybe even land your dream job. How do you go about achieving stellar grades though?

Stick to the plan

Organization is essential for anyone who wants to perform well in school. If you’re well-prepared, then you can never be caught off by something, whether it be a homework assignment or class test. You should always use a diary or online calendar to note down important dates and check it regularly to remind yourself of what’s coming up. It should include things like when you plan on starting your assignments or studying for your exams, as well as extracurricular activities. If you note down stuff like this, you might be surprised by how much more productive you become.

Look after yourself

Before you even start worrying about your academic performance, you should ensure you’re taking good care of yourself. Not many people can become a straight-A student when they spend day after day feeling tired and ill. You don’t have to be in peak physical condition, but you do need to be healthy. The best way to look after yourself is to ensure you exercise regularly, eat the right food, and get enough sleep. It’s all the stuff that professionals often tell you to do, but there’s a reason they keep repeating the same things. You’ll never be at your best if these things aren’t well-balanced.

Study with others

When it comes to homework, you should never do it alone. The moment you get stuck, your motivation will drop, and you’ll find yourself struggling to get your assignment done. If others are working with you, you can ask for help and share ideas with the group. It’s recommended that you do your homework with 2-3 other people around. If the group is too big, you run the risk of getting distracted. The whole point of working together is to help each other reach your respective goals, not stand in the way of them.

Avoid the temptations

Studying has always been hard, but for the young people of today, it’s become almost impossible. There are so many things now that act as regular distractions, such as mobile phones, social media, and gaming consoles. All of these will entice you away from your work, and that’s the last thing you want. It’s ideal to keep your phone as far away from you as possible, even if you just leave it in the other room. Also, choose to work somewhere that will stimulate your mind without distracting you from what you’re doing. If you’re worried about getting bored then don’t; you should only work in 30-45 minute blocks of time anyway.
Does getting straight-A’s feel a lot more achievable now? You still have to put in a ton of work if you want to get the grades, but at least following these rules makes them much easier to attain.
